Consignment selling

Based in Madison area

Hand off your valuable singles. I list them on TCGplayer, handle every shipment, and pay you monthly.

The math, plainly

Buylists pay roughly 40–55% of market value. Selling solo on TCGplayer gets you ~85%, but you do every photograph, listing, message, and shipment yourself. Consignment with me gets you 58–73% of market with zero work — and you never touch a packaging tape gun.

TCGplayer marketplace fees (14.25% + $0.30 per sale) come off the top first. Whatever's left after fees is split per the tiers above. Below the calculator, you'll see exactly how the math runs on every card.

Note: The estimator below assumes sales through TCGplayer Marketplace Pro. Cards may also be sold through eBay, in-person at events, sealed auction houses, or other channels where fee structures differ. I'll always discuss venue before listing high-value cards — different routes mean different fees and different payouts.

How it works — full terms

Fee structure and selling venue
The displayed estimator assumes sales through TCGplayer Marketplace Pro, where fees run 14.25% + $0.30 per sale. Whichever venue we use, fees come off the top before any split — the remainder is divided by the tier table above. Other venues (eBay, in-person at events, sealed auction houses, LGS buylists for fast cash) have different fee structures and may shift your final payout up or down. I'll communicate venue choice on high-value cards before listing.
Minimum card value
$5 per card. Cards below $5 don't generate enough margin after fees to be worth individual listings. For sub-$5 cards, ask about bulk buyout or buylist pricing instead.
Pricing authority
I set listing prices based on current TCGplayer market data. For cards over $100, we can agree on a minimum acceptable price before listing. Prices may be adjusted during the listing period to reflect market shifts.
Listing period
Cards are listed for 90 days. At the end of the window, we discuss extending, reducing the price, or returning unsold cards. Return shipping is on you if you want unsold cards back.
Payouts
Monthly via PayPal, Venmo, or check, with a $50 minimum payout threshold. Each payout includes a statement showing every sale, the listing price, TCGplayer fees, and your share.
Authentication and grading
For cards over $500, I recommend grading (PSA/CGC/Beckett) before listing — it commands a higher sale price and reduces buyer disputes. Counterfeits are returned at your expense.
Loss and damage
Cards damaged or lost in transit to the buyer are my responsibility. Cards held by me during the listing period are covered. Damage during your initial drop-off / shipping to me is your responsibility — please pack accordingly.
Taxes
You're responsible for reporting consignment income on your taxes. If your earnings exceed the federal 1099-K threshold in a calendar year, I will issue one. TCGplayer handles sales tax collection from buyers automatically.
